light wine things: Bill Culbert
LIGHT WINE THINGS is a book of remarkable photographs by Bill Culbert. Hard-covered, generously sized, and duotone throughout, the book reproduces all 100 photographs in the exhibition LIGHT WINE THINGS which was first shown at Millenium Public Art Gallery, Blenheim, with the support of Seresin Estate, and was toured through New Zealand by Dunedin Public Art Gallery. The photographs trace the magical interaction of light, wine and things in places as various as Provence and Port Chalmers. They are discussed in an introductory essay, 'Light's Touch', by curator Justin Paton.
New Zealand-born and based in London and the south of France, Bill Culbert is one of New Zealand's foremost artists, well-known for his sculptures incorporating real light and for his collaborations with Ralph Hotere.
