Bill Culbert: light wine things
light wine things is a book of remarkable photographs by Bill Culbert.
Hard-covered, generously sized, and duotone throughout, the book reproduces all 100 photographs in the exhibition light wine things.
The photographs trace the magical interaction of light, wine and things in places as various as Provence and Port Chalmers. They are discussed in an introductory essay, 'Light's Touch', by Justin Paton.
New Zealand-born and based in London and the south of France, Bill Culbert is one of New Zealand's foremost artists, well-known for his sculptures incorporating real light and for his collaborations with Ralph Hotere. His work was showcased in 1998 in the major touring survey Lightworks.
